Digital Waqf

What is Waqf

In Islamic law, a waqf (وقف) is a perpetual charitable endowment — property dedicated to Allah, whose benefits flow to the public forever. The concept enabled the great libraries of the Islamic civilisation: Bayt al-Hikmah in Baghdad, Qarawiyyin in Fes, Al-Azhar in Cairo.

Islamiqa as Waqf

Islamiqa is built as a digital waqf. The platform is free, open, and dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of Islamic knowledge. No investor can monetise it. No paywall will appear. The knowledge belongs to the Ummah.

The hadith behind it

العلماء ورثة الأنبياء. ما ترك الأنبياء ديناراً ولا درهماً، إنما تركوا العلم، فمن أخذه أخذ بحظ وافر

The scholars are the heirs of the Prophets. The Prophets left neither dinar nor dirham — they left knowledge.
